Getting involved with such an exciting sport like paintball really gets the motivation going. Once exposed to the activity, players want to start buying all the paintball equipment they possibly can.

It is wonderful that so many people are getting involved with paintball. The sport has grown in popularity so much that it is now played in over forty countries. International competitions are now taking place every year and professional paintball leagues have been around for a number of years.

Paintball equipment can be expensive to buy. A novice to the game really needs to consider all the options with paintball gear. Paintball guns, or markers, range in price from $100 to $1700. Much of the other gear shares the same discrepancy in cost. In paintball, you do really get what you pay for. In many cases, your level of playing may not be worth an extra couple hundred dollars.

The Whole Ball of Paint

One of the best ways to begin your paintball career is with equipment packages. Retail stores on the street and on the web put together special package deals for first time equipment buyers. There are two different ways the retailers will do this. The first way is with a selected marker, mask, and air tank.

The next, and preferred, paintball package deal allows you to choose the marker and then pay a set price to get the rest of the basic equipment. There are all sorts of packages available, but that gives you a good idea. Any paintball field requires a barrel plug, mask and goggles so you’ll be ready to play.

Upgrading Equipment Takes Time

When you’ve been playing for some time, it is tempting to upgrade equipment. Playing against all the other competitors, you’ll see all the fancy gear they are carrying around. It is only natural that your paintball gear be just as cool as theirs.

If you are ready for new equipment, talk to those around the field and practice range. The other players will let you try their equipment on for size. Taking it for a test drive will allow you to get to know it before buying more. Use the resources that are available, and then make a decision based on the good information.

Unlimited equipment and supplies upgrades are available for just about every paintball marker on the market. Picking and choosing wisely is the key to getting the most out of the equipment. Buying equipment just because it is new might be waste of time and money. Make sure that the gear is solid before spending good cash on it.

Without a doubt, much of the paintball gear and equipment is why we play the game. Just be sure to get the right equipment to help your game. Check out reviews online and talk to the experts and you’ll get it right. Read more about the gear:

Golf is learned little by little one step at a time.

Not exactly a modern American game, is it?

Well, if your heart is set on “convenience” sports, you might want to consider kickball or four-square. Golf isn’t learned in a day. Or even a year. According to some players - even a decade is too short! There’s no such thing as a perfect golf game. That’s all part of the “beauty and beast” nature that makes up this simple, complicated game.

There are some fundamental tips, though, that can shave a few years of frustration off your career! Some golfers disagree on even the basics. So I guarantee you’ll find somewhere someone who will disagree with me. But here’s what I’ve found to help golfers tremendously in improving their game.

The three most important steps that you want to keep in mind all the time are • keep your head still • keep your club head traveling in a straight line while in contact with the ball • relax your muscles.

I really can’t say enough about the importance of keeping your head perfectly still throughout your shot. I’ve seen frustrated golfers of all sizes improve immediately upon concentrating on this one step.

When your head is still, you can see the ball clearly. And how can you hit something that you can’t see?

Keeping your club head traveling in a straight line while in contact with the ball will help you avoid slicing and a host of other ills.

Relaxation of your muscles aids tremendously in keeping your balance. Balance is paramount to a good golf game and you don’t want to have to brace your muscles all over your body. Stand comfortably so you can reach the ball easily. As far as propelling the ball is concerned. the muscles which add to the force are the muscles which twist the body around. They’re the most powerful. So relax those arms!

If your game is off, go back to these three important steps. Don’t change your stance or swing. Just go back to the three basics and you’ll get back on track.

When baseball fans feel that a ballpark is a shrine rather than just a place to watch a baseball game, then there must be something about the park that makes it so great. Whether it’s the view, the enthusiasm, or the game itself, not many activities beat watching an intense game at a place you love. If you want to watch a game where the prices are good and the crowds are even better than these are the parks for you.

First is Miller Park in Milwaukee. With an average ticket price of just $16.86 fans are sure to get a bang for their buck. The building itself almost surreal with its brick faade and steel arches looming above, which makes the park seem as if it would be seen in a videogame rather than in real life. If you’re a fan who likes tailgating then this is the place for you. With the largest tailgating scene in all of MLB’s located here, it’s hard not to be friendly with other fans.

PNC Park, home of the Pittsburg Pirates comes in second place with an average ticket price of $17.08 and more than 36,000 parking spaces available near the park. Not only does the park sell tasty concessions but an Outback Steakhouse is located in left field where fans can enjoy the game while enjoying a great meal. Located in right field is a kid’s section with a mini PNC Park and multipurpose play set for kids ages 5-10. With its throwback design and up-to-date conveniences, this is a park almost any fan will enjoy. Ranked third in fans’ opinions is Coors Field home of the Colorado Rockies. An average ticket price of $14.92 gives the fans the ability to watch a game without putting a strain on their bank accounts. For fans who like to enjoy a beer or two while watching the game, located in the park is Sandlot Brewery with a wide variety of brews and behind the bullpen is an interactive area with everything from tee-ball cages to a fantasy broadcast booth. Even if you don’t get a good seat in the park you will still have a good line of sight for the game and fans sitting along the first base line there is an excellent view of the sunset over the mountains during evening games.

Number four on the list of best ballparks is Angel Stadium home of the Anaheim Angels. This park has an average ticket price of $17.36 and plenty of handicapped accessible seating. Angel Stadium has a program that allows wheelchair-bound fans to watch batting practice at lower level seating areas. Plus there’s even a 400 seat picnic area beyond center field for fans who like to bring their own snacks. With a new owner whose first priority is fan experience, the park is sure to make you want to be there. Fans support teams in this park so well that people leaving with hoarse throats is not uncommon.

Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves is the ballpark that comes in fifth. With an average ticket price of $17.51 and plenty of other attraction in the park fans get what they pay for. Scout’s Alley in left field allows fans to practice their batting and pitching with the interactive exhibits. If you’re a fan with a hearing problem, this is the park for you thanks to the audio amplification devices offered. Fans at this park are able to really get riled up when the tomahawk chop comes out. And finally the new high definition scoreboard in the middle of the park allow fans to have a great view of the score, inning, count, and everything else they need to know.

We usually think of trampolines as a fun outdoor amusement item for children. In fact, trampolines provide fantastic exercise through their ability to sustain target heart rates while remaining gentle to joints.

Rebounders - also known as “mini trampolines” - have been popular for many years, both for high-aerobic fitness and for bouncing fun. Rebounding is a unique exercise in that you achieve a weightless state at the top of each jump then land with twice the force of gravity on each bounce.

Rebounding offers an exercise that can be adjusted to your fitness level, is easy on your joints and back, and can be done in your home at your convenience. Studies have shown that rebounding on a trampoline burns more calories than traditional jogging. Rebounding protects the joints from the chronic fatigue and impact delivered by exercising on hard surfaces.

Exercising on a trampoline also strengthens your heart and improves your circulation. Many other benefits have been claimed, such as stimulating the flow in your lymphatic system, revitalizing vision, helping to slow the effects of aging, reducing stress, and benefiting children with learning disabilities and cystic fibrosis.

Mini trampolines are particularly good for children as exercising on it, which is also fun, results in better mental performance, with keener learning processes.

Exercising on mini trampolines is also good for people leading a sedentary life, as it offers relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise.

My favorite among hockey collectibles is vintage NHL jerseys and I’m not the only fan that thinks the jerseys looked better in the past. Lately we have also seen an upswing in the hockey jersey and NHL collectibles industry and you too can turn back the time with vintage hockey jerseys.

Vintage hockey and NHL jerseys jerseys are all the rage across the United States and Canada these days. And not only are they popular, they are big business too. When you go to the top vintage hockey and NHL jersey stores in the big hockey cities and cool malls in other places in North America, you see people paying big bucks for vintage hockey jerseys.

I can’t say that hockey was better back then, but it sure was something special about those old days of the National Hockey League. Many fans do agree with me on that one

But I guess that’s the thing though. These vintage NHL hockey jerseys are not just clothing. They are artifacts from a long gone era, when all of our hockey heroes were still in the league for the fun of playing ice hockey. You didn’t have to worry about guys sitting out a season just because he didn’t think his paycheck was big enough. You didn’t have to wonder if the league was going to lock the players out and take the fun away from us fans. And you especially didn’t have to wonder whether the hockey arenas were targets for a terrorist attack or not.

These vintage jerseys are gems from this pure and innocent past in ice hockey and the National Hockey League. They are heart warming and comforting, (mostly) because the rinks weren’t as warm back then.

I actually also think that many of today’s players would agree that vintage hockey and NHL jerseys would look darn good on them as well, just as they looked on previous player. The whole thing about vintage hockey jerseys is one big fashion statement in the ice hockey scene. They have done the classic green North Stars hockey jersey not to relive the glory days of the NHL, but because the jersey looks slick. They throw on the blue and white New York Rangers jersey from the old days not to celebrate those awesome teams, but because they just don’t make jerseys like that now.

How can you get into this action? Either hit local stores to find vintage hockey and NHL jerseys resellers. Or visit on line sites for auctions and sales of your favorite teams, players, and years.

The best place and the first place I would go looking is eBay. This is where most people go to get their hands on vintage hockey jerseys today. But, be forewarned: authentic vintage hockey jerseys can cost a dime or two. That’s what happens when sports stars buy them up and drive up demand.

But when you throw on one at your favorite NHL or other hockey event or on a date, you’ll feel like ten times what you spent. And who doesn’t want to feel that way?

Ron Artest, forward of the Indiana Pacers has been known for his wild behavior for several years. However, in the past two NBA seasons it has been worse then ever. We all now the story, last years incident in Detroit, the infamous brawl when a fan threw a cup a Artest, who then jumped into the stands followed by teammate Stephen Jackson to fight with Detroit fans. What most of us don’t know is that the problems started before that.

In the 2003-2004 season only played 73 games. Some missed sue to injury, but seven due to suspension for flagrant fouls. The NBA rule is you are allowed five flagrant fouls for the whole season. After that you are suspended five games for the first five flagrant fouls and one game for each additional foul later in the season. Artest broke the record that year for flagrant fouls. His sixth flagrant foul came five seconds into the game which he returned from his initial five game suspensions and he was ejected after only five seconds. Artest had perhaps his best statistic season of his career winning the Defensive Player of The Year Award.

In the 2004-2005 seasons he was suspended for the final 73 games of the regular season, including playoffs, with out pay for the Brawl in Detroit. Earlier in that year Artest took two games off willingly because he wanted to promote his rap CD. He lost $5 Million dollars of salaries that year due to suspensions.

In the 2005-2006 season thing started out great. However it soon fell apart as Artest felt that Coach Rick Carlisle was not implementing him into the offense. He felt that no small forward could guard him and that he wasn’t welcome in Indiana anymore. Shortly after he requested a trade. The Pacers agreed and have discussed Artest with many teams. If they can’t trade him, then they won’t play him at all for the reminder of the year.

As of December 17th, in a latest twist of events, he indicated that he wants to remain a Pacer. “I should have been a man and spoken with coach [Rick Carlisle] about my differences with him,” Artest told the Indianapolis Star. “Yes, I would like to return”.

It seems as though Ron Artest has become the Terrell Owens of the NBA. This is why teams like Detroit and San Antonio have won the last two championships. There is no ego on the team, no problems, media, saga’s; all they do is play basketball. Sure it may be boring, but you have to win at any cost in all sports.

In conclusion if I were a GM for a team I would consider Ron Artest for a second. He is two concerned about his own life. He have basically ruined two seasons for the Pacers, why will the next season be any different.

The road from the pond to the pros has been a bumpy one, but professional hockey is back in a big way. Fans that endured last year’s NHL lockout are now enjoying the game from the other side of the glass, as they watch their favorite brawlers on ice continue a game that started on grass.

The roots of hockey are hard to trace, although some historians believe that the game started as a summer sport-field hockey- in the northern parts of Britain and France before moving to the frozen waters of Holland in the 17th century, in a game called “Kolven.” Still, others believe that a version of hockey was played by Arabs, Greeks, Romans, Persians, and Ethiopians.

Almost all historians believe the word hockey itself came from the French word “hocquet,” which means “shepherd’s crook.”

Hockey didn’t make its way to Canada until the 1870’s, when British soldiers stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia reportedly organized contests on frozen ponds in and around the city. Around the same time, a group of students from Montreal’s McGill University were challenging each other at another nearby rink. By 1885, the first Canadian amateur hockey league was formed, consisting of four teams. Lord Stanley of Preston was so impressed with the popularity of the game that in 1892 he bought a silver bowl, declaring it to be given to the best hockey team in Canada. The award is known today as the Stanley Cup.

In the beginning, gear was limited. According to the book, “Hockey for Dummies,” published by IDG Books Worldwide, players wore blades attached to their shoes, and used tree branches as sticks. Goalie knee and shin guards, originally created for the game of cricket, eventually made their way to the hockey rink. Some players stuffed newspapers or magazines behind their shin guards for additional protection in games.

All of the hockey games taking place around the world were strictly amateur until 1904, when the first professional hockey league was established in the United States. In the iron-mining region of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the International Professional Hockey League was established and quickly followed by the National Hockey (NHA) Association and the Pacific Coast League (PCL).

During World War I, hockey was suspended. Following the war, the game resumed as the National Hockey League (NHL). The new league consisted of five franchises: Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Wanderers, Ottawa Senators, Quebec Bulldogs, and Toronto Arenas. Eventually the PCL disbanded, and the NHL took control of the Stanley Cup in 1926.

After losing and gaining a number of teams, the NHL appointed a definitive six franchises to the league in 1942: the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks. These teams stayed the same until 1967, when the league expanded, and these teams were fondly referred to as the “Original Six.”

In 1959, goalie Jacques Plante took a puck to the face off a shot from New York Ranger, Andy Bathgate. Plante wore a mask after that, but his coach urged him to play without it in later games. He did. It wasn’t until 1973 that goalies reverted to net keeping with masks for protection.

In 1972, the World Hockey League (WHL) was formed as a direct rival to the NHL, but the hype it generated eventually died down and the WHL disbanded in 1979, right around the same time the infamous Wayne Gretzky took to the ice.

Gretzky played 20 seasons in the NHL and won the scoring title 10 times, MVP nine times, and the Stanley Cup four times. His name has become synonymous with the game, and fans around the world wear throwback jerseys and apparel dedicated to “The Great One.”

Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Co. makes authentic NHL throwback jerseys of sports legends. Gretzky, along with Stan Mikita, and Guy Lafleur are three of Mitchell & Ness’s hot ticket hockey items.

The credit is well deserved. Gretzky’s career stats alone include 894 goals, 1,963 assists and 2,857 total points by 1999, his final season.

By the 2000-01 season, hockey had grown from the “original six,” to 30 teams, two conferences, and six divisions in the NHL. Goalies were playing with face masks, and every player in the NHL was required to wear a helmet on the ice.

The unknown origin and road that hockey has taken from a favorite in the winter months to an Olympic contender and professional sport, was a bumpy one filled with rule adjustments, safety precautions and fights. We can’t forget about the fights. From New England’s collegiate Bean Pot to Canada’s professional Battle of Alberta, the game is here to stay, and fans around the world can look forward to many more nights on the other side of the glass, rooting on their hometown heroes.

Jones (49-4, 38 KOs), who turns 37 on January 16th is a former middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight champion , Jones is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Hopkins (46-4-1, 32 KOs), who turns 41 in January as well, made a middleweight-record 20 title defenses before losing by decision twice to Jermain Taylor this year.

The boxing fight would be a rematch of a 1993 bout, which Jones won by unanimous decision. “I think it’s very exciting. Bernard is very happy about it and so is Roy. It’s fantastic,” said Richard Schaefer.
