The Forerunner: Elijah The Prophet 1

October 19th, 2008 by Administrator

Excerpts from The Third Testament

THE COUNSEL OF ELIJAH No. 1

1. I am Elijah, the prophet of the First Era and of the transfiguration on Mount Tabor. Prepare yourselves for you have been given the knowledge of the Seven Seals, and the doors of mystery have been opened so that you may contemplate the path of your salvation.

2. Behold the word of God fulfilled, pronounced since remote times by His prophets.

3. Be it known that there is joy in the celestial mansions and that it is the Divine Master, the Sacrificed Lamb, whom John beheld in his revelation, who has opened the Sixth Seal with His most powerful and perfect hand, and with it, the Third and last of the eras.

4. The light of the Sixth candlestick illuminates you, Humanity.

5. “Voice of the One who speaks in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord,” the prophet announced, and here I am, preparing the coming of my Lord, of your Heavenly Father, the Great Yahve, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God who spoke to Moses in the Sinai, and delivered the Law to His people.

6. So here, then, the promise is fulfilled, and He returns, surrounded by His angels, to reveal every mystery and to show the path of salvation to every spirit; for it is in this period of time that the prophecy shall be fulfilled that “Every flesh will see Him, and every spirit will feel Him.”

7. Therefore be prepared, Oh Israel, to receive your Lord and God, for the era of the Holy Spirit has now begun among you.

8. Twenty-two precepts are the legacy of the envoys of the Three Eras, precepts that clarify and explain to you the Law of God, so that you may guide yourselves during your human existence in accordance with them.

9. These 22 precepts form, in their unity, the Law, and they are formed by the explanation of the Commandments that God delivered through Moses, the envoy of the First Era; through the teaching of Jesus, the envoy of the Second Era, and by the precepts through Elijah, the envoy of the Third Era, which are revealed to the people of Israel through Roque Rojas, as a prelude toward the opening of the Sixth Seal, and the third of the Eras, the first of September of 1866, in this Mexican Nation.

Want To Know Jesus Christs Easter Thoughts At The Time Of Crucifixion

June 17th, 2008 by Administrator

Easter thoughts: What ever was the son of God thinking at the time of his crucifixion?

Easter is a time where we celebrate to commemorate the resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ. People all over the world of different cultures celebrate this miraculous rising. The season of spring is a time for new beginnings - new life. Nature`s beauty bounces back with lush jade privets - leafy trees in forty shades of green and flowers in full bloom. What with the lord Jesus Christ and new plant growth then who are we to disbelieve in the fact that there is life after death.

Easter thoughts: What ever was the son of God thinking at the time of his crucifixion?

Remember the lord by rejoicing - make this Easter extra special by sending close friends and family a Happy Card personalized with your own Easter thoughts put into words. Remember Easter is a time for forgiveness.

Remember the lord by baking a cake - pipe cream an Easter thought onto the sweet confection. Light 12 candles. You can donate this offering to the local chapel as a way of thanking Jesus Christ for coming back to watch over us. Remember Easter is a time for forgiveness.

Easter thoughts: What ever was the son of God thinking at the time of his crucifixion?

Remember the lord by throwing a dinner party - ask each guest to bring along a candle. Have the guests light the candle just as you are about to say grace thanking the lord for what you are about to receive. Remember Easter is a time for forgiveness.

Remember the lord with a prayer gathering among friends and family to let Jesus Christ know that he is in your thoughts at Easter. Remember Easter is a time for forgiveness.

Remember the lord by the giving of goodwill gestures. Easter time does not change situations in famine stricken countries nor for the abused child. Killings still continue with acts of terrorism which is a major concern spreading like an epidemic among loyalists. You can help by including these unfortunate people in the way of a donation as your Easter goodwill gesture - a couple of coppers to the campaign charities involved with fighting a good cause for peace can make a lot of difference to the starving and the abused.

We all feel saddened by Jesus Christ and his tortured passing but you can not turn back the clock. What is that true saying? you can not put a good man down and how very true are those words that were spoken.

Easter thoughts: What ever was the son of God thinking at the time of his crucifixion?

Forgive them for they know not what they do.

Peace and tranquility is all the lord ever wanted. Another way of finding this is by yoga practice.www.want2yoga.com Easter gifts for babies www.little-babyonline.com

The Return Of Jesus

March 30th, 2008 by Administrator

The inevitability of Jesus’ return is a subject not often touched upon in sophisticated circles. Until recently, it was a subject only for the theologically inclined or those intoxicated by recent religious conversion. Since September 11th, however, the theme of salvation suddenly has a topical relevance. In light of the personal devastation we have all shared, many are asking how there possibly could be an All-Powerful, All-Loving God. A few, on the other hand, citing an obscure blue and gold book are asking an even more disturbing question, if there is an All-Powerful, All-Loving God, how can the world we see be real?” These in ever increasing numbers are saying that A Course In Miracles, and the personal transformation activated therein is evidence enough to herald the Second Coming.

In 1965, a Voice claiming to be Jesus of Nazareth began speaking to Columbia University psychology professor, Helen Schucman. With gentle authority, the Voice insisted, “This is a Course In Miracles. Please take notes.” For seven years, Helen Schucman scribed the material known today as A Course In Miracles. A number of best-selling authors and new age gurus including Jerry Jampolsky and Marianne Williamson owe their fame to the principles of love and forgiveness contained in A Course In Miracles. But despite its phenomenal beginnings, A Course In Miracles today is relegated to the bottom shelf of most bookstores, forgotten in others, and has lost its appeal on the television talk show circuit. That is, until a small band of activists took up the Course as their cause.

Before I go any further with this story of my personal encounter with the Course, I’d like to tantalize the reader with the same mind-boggling experiment given to me by these miracle teachers as they called themselves. They asked me to suppose for a moment that as is claimed by the Voice in the book, Jesus really did author A Course In Miracles. “If that were true,” they inquired, “and I knew it, how would I view it?” I considered the question. “Well, I’m not a practicing Christian,” I mused. “But if Jesus really authored the Course, I would have to be impressed. Clearly, it would be a miracle. I’d run out, buy it and ingest every word.” “It would be the greatest story in the history of mankind.” I paused. “Well, second, I guess, to the story of the resurrection, which I might just have to re-consider as fact.” “But who could believe such a story. It’s akin to ouija boards. Come on, Jesus as a ghostwriter. That’s funny!”

“Well, if you won’t believe the Messenger, how about just looking at the Message?” They had me, these miracle teachers. They had demonstrated to me in my own mind the potential magnitude of this event, if, in truth, Jesus was the author of the Course. I had to proceed further, out of sheer curiosity. “Just take a look at the introduction,” they requested. “It’s just a few lines.” So, I looked.

This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is All-Encompassing can have no opposite.

This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.

My mind hiccupped. The opposite of love is fear, but what is All-Encompassing can have no opposite. My brain felt like it had been put into a blender and put on “liquefy”. It was whirling. How could my reality be so contradicted by Truth? And, yet this Voice, speaking so simply was obviously expressing the clarity of vision of a mind unencumbered by threat. Clearly, if there is an “All-Encompassing”, any reality I justified as intimidating could not be so. I was being asked to question all my premises based on fear and there seemed to be plenty of them. What about the “me” who was uncomfortable making conversation with strangers at cocktail parties? What about the “me” who was afraid nothing I ever wrote was good enough? What about the “me” who was afraid to be late, or to get sick, or to say “no” to my best friend? What about my “justifiable” fears like disasters, terrorists, pain, or murder? Nothing real can be threatened. Hmmm. When I thought about it, the only “me” I know is the one making decisions based on whether or not I feel safe or comfortable. You mean, none of me as I know myself is real?!

What is this Course In Miracles anyway?

My investigative spirit had been sparked. But more than that, a place deep within me, had been quickened, a place long scarred over by “professional skepticism” and repeated personal disappointment. It was the poignant place in me that yearns for Truth, that knows of “something else”, that is a persistent feeling, sometimes not more that a tiny throb, at other times hardly remembered, but surely returns to mind again and again. In the Course’s introduction, I had remembered an echo of my heart’s desire. I decided to check out these miracle teachers and their Course under the guise of investigative reporting.

I arrived at the Wisconsin campus of Endeavor Academy on an early spring afternoon. Driving to Lake Delton, I was bombarded by billboards trumpeting the thrills of water parks and the family fun of miniature golf. Who would have thought to locate an academy of spiritual transformation near the birthplace of the Ringling Brothers Circus and the tourist mecca of Wisconsin Dells? Then, I saw the irony. “How appropriate,” I thought. “I’ll be divested of my illusion in the heartland of illusions!” As I took my luggage to my room I could hear the eclectic cacophony of a number of languages being spoken. I could recognize German, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, and what sounded like Polish. And there were obviously different versions of English being spoken as well. It was clear I had walked into an international tower of babble. And, a happy one at that. Everywhere I looked there were welcoming smiles, laughter and arms raised in joy.

Later that afternoon, in an orientation of the premises, I wandered into the Academy library. Although small by college library standards, the variety and depth of material about enlightenment in all traditions was astounding. The bookshelves bulged with metaphysical treatises by Christian heretics, Eastern masters, and new age spiritualists.

My eyes were drawn to a volume entitled “The Perennial Philosophy” and I began to scan Aldous Huxley’s anthology of mystical utterances. I was struck by the universality of the metaphysical experience that resurfaces throughout all time, and that traverses a broad spectrum of cross-cultural recipients. Whether the words emanated from a Sufi saint, a Zen or Mahayana Buddhist, an Indian guru, a Taoist, a Moslem, a Hindu, or a Christian mystic, I sensed the fabric of eternity within our tapestry of time. I hear the timeless words of the mystics, and I am reminded again of the Course’s Introduction, This is a required course and of my own infant transcendental moment that brought me on this search to remember the divine Reality behind the world of things. Apparently, I am in good company.

Had a miracle had brought me here?

Later that afternoon, while filling out my registration, I had a long talk with Wolter and Nohra, two of the Admissions Office Staff. Wolter is a jovial radiant Dutchman with a chuckle like Santa Claus. Nohra, his wife, laughs with an enthusiasm born of conviction. I asked Nohra what was going to be my favorite question, “What is this place?” “Endeavor Academy is an academy for teachers of A Course In Miracles, she replied. “Its purpose is the same as that of the Course itself, to bring you enlightenment through the transformation of your mind.”

“Enlightenment, there is a big idea. What does it mean?”
She easily quoted the Course. Enlightenment is but a recognition not a change at all. “I think I’ll let Jesus explain further. He expresses it better than I do,” she said, “and certainly more beautifully. She picked up the fabled blue and gold book and began to read:
True light that makes true vision possible is not the light the body’s eyes behold. It is a state of mind that has become so unified that darkness cannot be perceived at all. And thus what is the same is seen as one, while what is not the same remains unnoticed, for it is not there.

This is the light that shows no opposites, and vision, being healed, has power to heal. This is the light that brings your peace of mind to other minds, to share it and be glad that they are one with you and with themselves. This is the light that heals because it brings single perception, based upon one frame of reference, from which one meaning comes.

As Nohra read, the revelation born of truth emanated from these words and overwhelmed me. It expressed an unworldly point of view not found in normal human correspondence. Again, I was reminded of my response to the Introduction to the Course. The throb had returned, right in the pit of my stomach and my head was reeling again. I felt like Keanu Reeves playing Neo in The Matrix. I had swallowed the red pill and there was nothing I could do about it.

Wolter looked at me brightly and explained further. “The nature of Reality is Thought. Everything is only your idea of it. The Course teaches total responsibility for what you perceive. This realization permits you to change, in an instant, perception in its entirety. Self-responsibility is thus the catalyst to the experience of transformation that is the mind-training program of A Course In Miracles. That revelation is practical, very sacred, and very emotional. It changes the entire way I see the world. The Course does not seek to change the world but through our individual acts of love and forgiveness to change the mind that perceives the world. Jesus says it simply this way: To free the world from every kind of pain is but to change your mind about yourself.

Listening to the two of them, I realized this assignment had just gotten very personal. I saw in these few minutes how my perception of my world had been edited by my own fear of fear. I saw how I had imprisoned myself and everyone around me by an elusive and unexpressed anxiety. I was beginning to feel very exposed.

That evening I sat with a group of other students over a vegetarian pasta dinner. Making conversation, I asked Philly, “What is this place?” She paused. As I watched her, something happened and I was not prepared for the depth of her answer. I felt the intimacy of a memory rise up in her. Her eyes began to water behind her glasses and she spoke with great emotion. “A while before I came here, I was lying in a hospital bed. The next day I was scheduled to have my left breast removed. I was very frightened and, perhaps for the first time, I prayed. In that moment, a miracle occurred. I knew, no matter what appeared to happen, I was going to be all right. The next day, when I woke from the anesthesia, the surgeon leaned over me and told me the news. He had found nothing. There was no tumor. He called it a mistake, an aberration, a poor diagnosis. But he never considered the possibility it had been a miracle. You ask ‘what is this place?’ This is a place where miracles are recognized. I had told no one here of my healing. Yet, the first day I was here, the Master Teacher looked at me and said, ‘here is an association who had cancer of the left breast and decided not to.’ This is a place, a new continuum of time where suffering and pain cannot exist. It is a continuum where you and I see the Truth in each other.”

Needless to say, that night I retreated to my room, my heart brimming with the infinite possibility of the miracle and my mind conflicted with the cynicism of an idea too good to be true. I curled up on my bed and began to read the masterpiece known as A Course In Miracles.

Presented as a self-study program, the format of the Course is a workbook of daily lessons, a text, and a teacher’s manual. Proclaiming to offer a primer of how enlightened mind works, the Course purports to activate our memory of our Divine Inheritance through our individual application of the psychology of self-responsibility and the art of forgiveness.

The stated purpose of the workbook is to: train your mind in a systematic way to a different perception of everyone and everything in the world… The very nature of true or enlightened perception is that it has no limits. It is the opposite of the way you see now. True perception is the means by which the world is saved from sin, for sin does not exist. And it is this that true perception sees.

This is clearly a radically different paradigm of the world. I gave up trying to understand for the moment and closed my eyes. As I drifted off to sleep my heart was flooded with a nostalgic longing, for what I did not know. Yet, in the yearning, it was fulfilled and I felt contentment from a past long unremembered.
In the morning, I prepared for session. This is the single event of the day that everyone at Endeavor Academy– teachers, students and guests, –all share. At breakfast, I met with my “guide”. James is an Irishman turned Australian, who still retains a hint of the blarney in the twinkle in his eye. I was interested in “the Master Teacher” spoken of by Philly, the night before. “Who is he?” I asked.

James turned serious and spoke with a quiet, authoritative certainty. “The Master Teacher is a teacher of awakening. He is an introduction to the dynamics of the transformative process profiled in A Course In Miracles. As a whole expression of Universal Communication, Master Teacher is a catalyst to the stimulation and acceleration of your own illumination.
Jim’s voice became low and personal. “As an awakened teacher, Master Teacher transmits the energy of Resurrected Mind. He demonstrates through your own personal experience the healing essence of Light as the transformative factor of your Mind.” Through him, I have recalled that vibratory resonance And through his expression of A Course in Miracles, I have remembered myself as the Light Jesus proclaimed me to be. My recognition of the Master Teacher has been the divine recognition of my Self and everyone around me.”

I listened, but could barely pay attention because I had become liquid Light. The whirling I had experienced earlier had coalesced into a single, indescribable blending with everything around me. I was being lifted somehow through myself and propelled into the universe. I experienced no fear, only awe and tremendous gratitude. Jim continued speaking:
“The Course and its awakened teachers are a vibratory call that resounds to the personal remembrance of your own mastership through revelation. This is a teaching of initiation, or the determination of an individual mind to come to its own whole universal self. It is the transitional passage from time to eternity, a personal adventure, and a required course for the completion of man’s inevitable metamorphosis to his natural enlightened condition.”

Our talk was interrupted by a great excitement. The Master Teacher was arriving.

I looked around the session facility. The room was filled with about 300 people of all ages, races, nationalities, and economic background. “What could attract such an all-inclusive diversity of human form,” I thought. There were resounding laughter and a spontaneous rising of arms as the Master Teacher entered the room. At that point, my focus shifted from the figure in the room to a compelling force of energy surging through me. I remembered one of the phrases Nohra had read to me the day before from the Course. “True light that makes true vision possible is not the light the body’s eyes behold.” I was swept by an imperative of integration that was physical, emotional and intellectual. I lost my reference of myself as an objective entity separate from the room and others around me. It is a state of mind that has become so unified that darkness cannot be perceived at all. And thus what is the same is seen as one, while what is not the same remains unnoticed, for it is not there. I was in love, of love, and from love.

In the background of my mind, the Master Teacher was relating the thought system unlocked by the Course with the tenets of Mind espoused by Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount. As a man thinketh so doth he perceive. The experience of eternal life demonstrated by Jesus in His Resurrection, maintained the Master Teacher, is the same truth advocated by quantum physicists in their recognition of the unreality of observed form. I saw that the Master Teacher was speaking of the very experience of integration of which I was, in that moment in joyous awareness. “There is no world,” the Master Teacher was saying emphatically. My experience confirmed this outrageous statement. I was in the world but not of it. I was sharing a vibratory pitch of energy that was so inclusive the separate nature of the world that I had known disappeared. I was One with the Universe. My kingdom is not of this world. All the Biblical phrases of the New Testament were rushing back into my agnostic mind with the reverberation of Truth.

I began to see that this tiny band of activists was right. The Second Coming was at hand. Jesus wasn’t reappearing as an objective form outside of me. He was reappearing as me in my Self-realization of the Singular Reality of God. In a single instant of revelation, Christianity’s idea of atonement reconfigured in my mind as the experience of at-One-ment I was having. In A Course In Miracles, the miracle of His Return was being played out in a remarkable story of individual transformation to Wholeness–my story.

At that moment, a hand touched my shoulder and I was aware that the Master Teacher was speaking through me. I was being lifted beyond all thought and conceptual articulation. As I “left”, I heard the invocation of my baptism in Light. “Glad is the hand of the Father extending His Love to His Son” and I was Glad.

Who Are The Underminers?
By Margaret Paul, Ph.D.

How many of you had the experience growing up of being told in various ways to limit yourselves from being all you can be? The movie “The Incredibles” is a wonderful metaphor for this. In this movie, the superheroes - the people with extraordinary powers - are restricted from using their powers.

When I was growing up, I was not supported in being all I could be. “Boys don’t like smart girls,” “People will be jealous of you.” I learned to hide good grades and talents, for fear others would be threatened. If I wanted to “fit in,” I needed to be like everyone else. Being extraordinary was considered “weird.”

In the movie, the superheroes are finally allowed to use their powers because they are needed to save the planet. This, too, is a metaphor. We are each extraordinary in our own ways, and this planet needs each of us to fully express our gifts and talents. We need extraordinary people to step up to the plate to guide us away from fear, greed and manipulation and into caring, compassion, and personal responsibility. Fortunately, many more young people today are encouraged to be all they can be.

At the end of the movie, a horrible monster arises from the earth, saying something like, “We are the underminers. We undermine happiness, peace and joy. We are always beneath you.”

Who are the underminers?

Underminers are both within and without.

Outer underminers are those people who do not have your highest good at heart. They are the people who want to use you, blame you, manipulate and control you, and try to limit you. They are the people who are threatened by you being all you can be. They are the people who want you to care-take them rather than take responsibility for yourself. These people can be family, friends, or co-workers - anyone in your life who does not support you in being all you can be. It is sad and lonely when the people who say they care about you, instead do all they can to control and limit you.

However, as adults it is the inner underminers who cause the most damage. The inner underminers are the wounded parts of ourselves that hold our limiting beliefs - the lies we learned about ourselves, others, and God. These underminers shout lies to us that cause our fears and anxieties and keep us from fully manifesting all that we are.

Paul is a very competent man, yet every time he gets a new idea of something he wants to do with his work and his life, his underminer says, “You can’t do it. You will fail.” His underminer keeps him immobilized and “safe.”

Julia is a talented writer, yet has never submitted her writing for publication. Whenever she starts to move toward submitting her writing, her underminer shouts, “No one will listen to you. No one wants to read what you write.”

For a long time, Joanna has wanted to leave her job and go back to school for further training. Yet whenever she contemplates this, her underminer sneaks in with the lie that stops her every time: “If you leave your job, you will never find another one. God will not support you in doing what you want to do.”

Robert is unhappy in his relationship. His girlfriend, Marian, just wants to be taken care of. She is often very angry at Robert when he wants to spend time with friends or even time alone, and does not support him in what brings him joy. She is an underminer, yet it is his inner underminer that keeps him from leaving. “You will end up alone and be more miserable than you are now.”

Suzanne was the “smart one” in her family, while her sister was the “pretty one.” Her parents undermined her by telling her over and over that she needed to learn to take care of herself because no man would want her. Now, a successful and attractive woman, Suzanne’s underminer constantly tells her, “You will always be alone. You are not meant to have a relationship.” Because of her underminer, Suzanne approaches relationships with a chip on her shoulder, creating the rejection she is hoping to avoid.

“You can’t.” “You will fail.” “You are inadequate.” “Who do you think you are?” “You will end up alone.” “You are ugly.” “You are alone - God does not exist.” “Spirit will not support you because you are not good enough.”

The underminer - undermining your happiness, peace and joy. Why not be a superhero and stop listening to the underminer?

God Says “Be Holy, For I Am Holy” - Why Is It Important For Us To be Walking In Holiness?

January 22nd, 2008 by Administrator

Many Christians get very intimidated by the word “holiness.” Its very connotation seems old-fashioned and abstract. What
exactly is holiness? How do I become holy? How do I walk in holiness?

For most nonbelievers, their concept of holiness is one that is very solemn and somber. To live a holy life is to live a life
that is dark and gloomy; a life devoid of color, fun and excitement. Unfortunately, that is also the idea many Christians have whenever they think about being holy. But nothing can be further from the truth.

We worship God in the beauty of His holiness (1 Chron. 16:29). That means holiness is something attractive and
beautiful. No wonder people followed Jesus everywhere He went. Even little children wanted to come near to hug Him. Holiness makes a believer a very attractive witness for Christ. The Bible says that God is glorious in holiness (Ex. 15:11). Holiness carries with it the glory of the Lord.
Glory” means two things:

(1) Light. A holy person is never dull or gloomy. On the contrary, he stands our head and shoulders over everyone else. The Christian who is holy is a bright and radiant person, shining powerfully for Jesus.

(2) Weight. In the Hebrew language, the word “glory” is kabod, which means weight or substance. The Christian
who is holy is a person who carries the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit comes with a very substantial presence. When a holy person walks into a room, the anointing of God goes into that room with him. When a holy person speaks, his words carry weight and authority.

When Jesus spoke, everybody listened: “Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him”" (Mark 1:27).

Deuteronomy 23:14 says we have to make a decision to keep our camp–the house of God–spiritually clean. God only walks on
holy ground. Our words, actions and thoughts have to be sanctified because we can build an environment where God enjoys coming into. And when God walks among us, there will always be blessing, provision and protection.

Make a decision today to be walking in holiness. Do not entertain any more unclean ideas, conversations or deeds that would grieve the Holy Spirit. God says, “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Pet. 1:16).

White Sun - Sutra of Hui Neng

January 11th, 2008 by Administrator

Sutra is also known as stanza. Hui Neng spoke about Sudden Enlightenment where it takes only a moment to attain Buddhahood. In one of his discourses he told his disciples that he had a “Formless” stanza to recite and advised both laity and monks to put into practice. This is his stanza:

“A master of the Buddhist Canon as well as of the teaching of the Dhyana School may be likened unto the blazing sun sitting high in his meridian tower. Such a man would teach nothing but the Dharma for realizing the Essence of the Mind. And his object in coming to this world would be to vanquish the heretical sects. We can hardly classify the Dharma into ‘Sudden’ and ‘Gradual’ but some men will attain enlightenment much quicker than others. For example, this system for realizing the Essence of the Mind is above the comprehension of the ignorant. We may explain it in ten thousand ways but all those explanations may be traced back to one principle. To illuminate our gloomy tabernacle, which is stained by defilement, we should constantly set up the Light of Wisdom.

Erroneous views keep us in defilement while right views remove us from it. But when we are in a position to discard both of them, we are then absolutely pure. Bodhi is immanent in our Essence of Mind and attempt to look for it elsewhere is erroneous. Within our impure mind the pure one is to be found and once our mind is set right, we are free from three kinds of beclouding (defilement, evil karma and expiation in evil realms of existence).

If we are treading the Path of Enlightenment, we need not be worried by stumbling-blocks. Provided we keep a constant eye on our own faults, we cannot go astray from the right path. Since every species of life has its own way of salvation, they will not interfere with or be antagonistic to one another. But if we leave our own path and seek some other way of salvation, we shall not find it, and though we plod on till death overtakes us. We shall find only penitence in the end.

If you wish to find the true way, right action will lead you to it directly; but if you do not strive for Buddhahood, you will grope in the dark and never find it. He who treads the path in earnest, sees not the mistakes of the world. If we find faults with others, we ourselves are also in the wrong. When other people are in the wrong, we should ignore it, for it is wrong for us to find faults. By getting rid of the habit of fault-finding, we cut off a source of defilement.

When neither hatred nor love disturbs our mind, serenely we sleep. Those who intend to be teachers of others should themselves be skilled in the various expedients which lead others to enlightenment. When the disciple is free from all doubts, it indicates that his Essence of Mind has been found. The Kingdom of Buddha is in this world, within which enlightenment is to be sought. To seek enlightenment by separating from this world is as absurd as to search for a rabbit’s horn.

Right views are called ‘transcendental’; erroneous views are called ‘worldly’. When all views, right or erroneous, are discarded, then the essence of Bodhi appears. This stanza is for the ‘Sudden School’. It is also called the ‘Big Ship of Dharma’. Kalpa after kalpa, a man may be under delusion, but once enlightened it takes him only a moment to attain Buddhahood.”

According to Tao of Heaven, Hui Neng is the incarnation of Bodhisattva Ti-Tsang (the Deliverer from Hell). He was born in Canton and two days after he was born, two monks came to his home and said: “Your son has great affinity with Buddha; therefore we come to give him a name. Hui means in the future he will be able to use wisdom of Buddhist teachings to help the mortals; Neng means he will be able to illuminate the Dharma of the Buddha.”

Hui Neng’s father died when he was only three and his childhood was poor and difficult. When he was twenty-four, while delivering a batch of fire wood to a store, he heard a guest reciting the Diamond Sutra, he was enlightened. He asked the guest where he obtained the sutra and the guest told him from a temple in Huang Mei. The guest with generosity gave him ten ounces so that he will be able to leave for Huang Mei to pay the fifth Patriarch a visit and be his disciple. Even though he did not become a monk under the fifth Patriarch Hong Yen at that time, with his true wisdom, he was chosen to become the sixth Patriarch to carry on the lineage of Tao.

This is the Sutra of Hui Neng on Prajna (wisdom):

“In the future, if an initiate of my dharma should make a vow in company with his fellow disciples to devote his whole life without retrogression to the practice of the teaching of this ‘Sudden’ dharma, in the same spirit and dedication as that for serving Buddha, he would reach without failure the Path of Holiness. But this righteous person must be transmitted confidentially from heart to heart the instruction handed down from the past Patriarchs; and yet no attempt should be made to conceal this method of immediacy.”

The ‘Sudden’ dharma is the sudden awakening taught in Tao of Heaven as the Three Heavenly Treasures. The First Treasure is to wake up our divine soul or true self and plant the seed of enlightenment. Hui Neng also said that: “Sentient being who sows the seeds of enlightenment, in the field of causation will reap the fruit of Buddhahood.”

Author: T.A Chew

T.A Chew after going through the process of initiation of Tao in 1995 understands that there is such an awakening propagated by Hui Neng called the ’sudden’ enlightenment. By realizing the essence of Tao he can practise accordingly to purify and restore his true self. Website: http://www.white-sun.com

Your Focus Determines Your Reality

“Your Focus Determines Your Reality”

“Your focus determines your reality”, this famous line was spoken by Qui-Gonn Jinn of Start Wars-The Phantom Menace fame.

Ok, perhaps it is really infamous and you don’t remember that quote. Nonetheless, think about it for a moment. Would you agree or disagree?

I’m about to show you why I emphatically agree with this certain Jedi Master and not just because it’s from Star Wars…well not completely ;) No I’m going to show you how your focus relates to anything you want to be successful in and then more specifically your Christian life. Ready? Let’s Go!

“Close or narrow attention; concentration” - so says Mister dictionary.com. When you are focusing on a certain aspect of anything, you generally ignore the rest of the picture. You’re concentrating so hard that the rest of it at the very least becomes far less important and occupies less of your mental powers.

So what happens? You get more of what you’re focusing on. And less of what you’re ignoring. You can be successful at what ever it is you are focusing on because you’re giving it all your attention. And everything else gets harder to become better at.

Whatever is in your focus, you will start to concentrate on it and you will be better conditioned to alter certain aspects of your life which will allow the object of your focus to actually become a true part of your life.

Perhaps an example is in order:

[Example]

Say you are on a diet. You’re not allowed to eat any carbohydrates. So what should you focus on? If you’re gonna focus on the fact that you can’t eat donuts and ho hos, what do you think you’re gonna be craving all day? That’s right–ho hos and donuts!

Now instead, lets say you focus on how you can make a great tasting meal out of fresh vegetables and yummy lean meat products, how you’re gonna prepare them, cook them and enrich the flavor. What do you think you’re gonna be craving that night? The no-carb-lean-meaty meal of course!

[end example]

See how your focus determines your reality? If you’re concentrating on what you shouldn’t be doing, you’re setting yourself up for failure…are you starting to see how this relates to your Christian walk?

What do most Christians focus on? What do most preachers preach on? What you can’t do! Am I right? The only result that can come from focusing on what you can’t do is you doing exactly that! Most Christians think in terms of what they can’t do–the law.

The Bible goes so far as to say that we would not even know about sin if it wasn’t for the law:

“On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET.
But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind”
Romans 7:7-8

Likewise we would not even have the desire to do what we’re not supposed to do if we weren’t focused on not doing it. (just read it again, It’ll make sense).

So it is clear that by fixating our attention on what it is we are trying to avoid, we are actually setting ourselves up for failure. You can’t focus on what you don’t want and get what you want.

But you need to focus on something! And like our diet example, the right way to focus is on what you do want! Just like the diet works if you focus on the good foods, your Christian life will work if you focus on what is good–Jesus Christ and his life that he gave you.

Focusing on Christ and allowing him to express himself through you daily is the key to success in your Christian life. Pay no heed to what you’re not supposed to do, “out of sight-out of mind!”.

So I guess ole Qui Gonn was right, “your focus does determine your reality”!

Awe, Perfect!

October 31st, 2007 by Administrator

Every so often, I enjoy browsing through Christian Book Stores
just to read their wall hangings. It draws me to worship. Yet,
no matter how beautiful, either the color or wood tone doesn’t
coordinate with my home furnishings. Thus, coming home empty
handed is the norm.

Through the course of conversation, a friend gave me the idea
to frame my poetry. What a Godsend! There is a way to decorate
my house as a testimony for God after all!

For the next few months, every piece of paper caught my
attention - from cards with framed messages (making beautiful
borders) to designed stationery (for backgrounds) to picture
posters (creating otherwise more expensive large wall hangings).
Each and every creation is one of a kind. There’s even a
grouping of family photos, with one frame out in front that
says, “Our God Reigns”. My house is growing to be a visible
expression of my heart. Isn’t God wonderful!?!

However, there was just one snag (an object lesson, if you
will).

In purchasing a picture of a temple garden with doves; no
verse, poem, or saying had been included. It needed something
more to mark its’ religious significance. Not having before
realized; doves are no longer easy to find in the stores. My
husband helped search until we found enough pieces to complete a
wall, shelf, and table grouping.

A poem was to set in the midst, to tie this grouping together.
More than a half dozen changes in the framed poem occurred
before I was satisfied with its’ wording. Then, the materials
used in the frame changed more times than I can count. It was a
chore ever coming to the place that poem, fonts, paper, ink,
color, background, and frame all worked together like it should.
Eventually, the right combination came together that left that
feeling of ‘awe, perfect’. Concluding that this framed creation
was never going to get any better than that, I vowed to never
touch it again. Finally!!! I was glad that was over!

Then one day, while on vacation, I came across a gorgeous
handcrafted Canadian resin dove frame. It was twice what I
wanted to pay. How could I be sure if it were a perfect match,
being several states away? After having labored over the
decision, I concluded that I might not get another chance for a
frame like this again.

Once home, I set the frame with the grouping to see how it
might look. Still uncertain, after hesitation, I took apart my
framed work, transferred it to the new frame, then set it in
place of the original. Awe! PERFECT! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! How
could that be!?! I always thought the feeling of ‘awe, perfect’
was God’s way of saying something is just right/complete/as it
was meant to be.

“How could that be, God?”

He answered, “See. My ‘PERFECT’ is even better than yours.”
And, yes, I did ’see’ the difference.

I think God gave me that object lesson as a way of sharing with
people something I’d already learned, Except the Lord build the
house, those who build are laboring in vain (Ps.127:1). His
‘PERFECT’ is better than the very best we can do. All our
righteousness is as filthy rags until God begins to live through
us; trading in our knowledge, thoughts, beliefs, talents,
abilities, creativity for His. ‘Awe’ to know Him! His ways are
always ‘PERFECT’!!! And, if we’d just let God build our house
and His, they’d both be ‘PERFECT’, too.

On The Riverside

October 21st, 2007 by Administrator

The silence that a person has when in nature is awesome. Yes you
end up hearing leaves, water, animals, and other things, but
it’s truly remarkable how peaceful the forest is. People these
days really have no clue how marvelous everything is when we
allow God to show us through his heart. If we listen and
meditate on God long enough, he’s sure to say something to us.
We have to be willing to listen though, and not discount what is
being said. Satan will do everything he can to keep us from
listening to God.

I was walking down a path next to the river. While walking, I
started asking God to reveal what it was he had in store for me;
what exactly it was he wanted from me and our relationship. I
knew that I needed time to allow Him to talk and for me to
listen, so I started to look for places along the bank to sit.
There were plenty of trees, bushes and other forest-like things
that blocked an open spot. It was rather warm next to the water
and the breeze that flowed through the trees gave an awesome
feel to the air. Walking down the path, I had already started
asking God to sit, and show me things he wanted me to know. I
soon looked down and saw three snapping turtles. They were lying
on the driftwood in the water, basking in the sun. As reptiles,
they need to find ways to stay warm, so it’s always been
interesting to me to watch them.

God said, “Sit here, and we’ll talk.”

As I went to clear a decent spot and sit down, all the turtles
scurried off into the water. I sighed a little because I wanted
to watch them a bit more. So I sat down, closed my eyes, and
started to pray. I thought about the horrific details of Jesus’
crucifixion. The torture, beatings, physical weakness, and
emotions of this day became real in my mind. This was the first
time I truly understood what happened to Jesus on that memorable
day. He did this out of obedience to the Father, love,
compassion, duty, and our future relationship with us between
himself and God. When Jesus understood the weight of the sins he
was taking responsibility for, he asked God as his Lord, not his
Father, why he had forsaken him. This had to be one of the
hardest things God had to do. He turned his back on his only
begotten son. I imagined myself having a son, and the feelings I
would have if I had to allow him to be sacrificed for something,
and for me to lose him in every way I know him to be. I don’t
know about anyone else, but I don’t think I’m even close to
being that strong. I couldn’t do it. That in itself tells me
that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the only ones that can
give me strength in my faith. Glory to God…

While sitting and praying, I would periodically open my eyes and
look to see one of those turtles making its way back up onto the
log. Every time I would move just the slightest, it would dive
into the water. I watched this happen several times before I
heard a voice telling me something important. I listened
intently to that message, and there were actually two parts.
Both were very vivid and strong.

Noticing how the turtles were so skittish, I started playing
with them in my own weird way. I tested how much movement I
could make before it freaked and took cover under water. Almost
like a brick up side the head, this is what I got:

When God starts working in our lives; we tend to get scared and
take a dive. He moves in so many ways in our lives that it still
amazes me each time. We back away from a situation that God has
called us for in fear of failure, and not wanting to get too
involved. We mostly don’t like our little world changed and
uprooted in what we believe. Once we’re under cover and feel
like we no longer have to do what God wants of us, we climb back
up and ask in a fraudulent way for God to work with us. As soon
as he does start working, we head for cover again. Each time God
tries to get our attention it’s in a different way. He’ll move
boldly at first, and then try a more subtle approach later. Just
like I tried to move with more subtle gestures, well it’s the
same with God. He’ll do whatever it takes to get our attention,
and eventually it’s going to be a bold statement if we won’t
listen.

We don’t tend to like how God is doing his work and that the
sacrifices he calls of us. We’re comfortable just going to
church on Sunday without actually having to impact someone
else’s life. We as human beings put God on this pedestal, we
fear him in the wrong ways. This fear causes us to back away
from God and not allow him to nurture our spirit. Fearing God
isn’t a fear of his grand power. It’s kind of like a respect we
would have for a person we know in our life that has had an
impact on us; someone that we agree with on moral issues,
wisdom, and whatnot.

One thing though, God only gives us what He knows we can handle,
and he never gives up.

The next thing on the agenda God wanted to cover was that no
matter how many times our circumstances seem to get the better
of us, we’ll overcome that obstacle. It’s a struggle sometimes
to keep our eyes on the prize; the eternal life with God, but
our focus should be for that power over our weaknesses. We must
allow ourselves to be strong in what we believe, and know that
there is an end to the current madness.

When we are in the valleys of our life, it’s like being under
water. We feel like we can’t breathe, our chest is tight and we
can’t come to the surface for that refreshing intake of air. We
feel like we’re drowning in life’s sorrows and problems. Like
the turtles, we can’t stay under too long or we’ll drown. No
matter what our circumstances may be, we strive to look into the
face of God. Once we’re out of the water or valley, we stand
strong on the mountains; on the driftwood as the turtles do, and
raise our arms to our Father and say, “Thank you God, it was
your Grace and leadership that I was able to find my way out of
this. I am blind and too weak to do all of this on my own.”
Therefore, by continuing to keep a lookout for God, our
situations get easier, and harder to handle at the same time. We
have to learn by experience how to stand strong and come out of
the valley unscathed. Stand up and tell Satan that he has no
power over us, then reach for our Father for his love and
comfort. God in turn will always reach down and protect us and
hug us in his wonderful arms. So in faith and the Glory of God,
we’re strong as Christians to fight for that surface; for that
refreshment of air. In turn God will do more with us because we
have that experience under our belt. He’ll use that knowledge in
a most wonderful way.

Those messages remind me to overcome every obstacle. They remind
me to stand up, dust myself off, and keep looking to God for
support, love, grace, and strength. No one can take that away.

WARNING - Do Not Take The Mark Of The Beast

October 2nd, 2007 by Administrator

This article, on the mark of the beast, will be short, sweet and straight to the point. This will be an extension off of the articles that I just did on all of the events that will be occurring leading up to the return of Jesus back to our earth to set up His Millennium Kingdom.

In the first article I did titled “Basic Overview of Main End Time Events“, I gave you the verse on how the False Prophet will set up a system on how he and the Antichrist will try to get everyone to receive the mark of the beast on either their foreheads or their right hands. The verse goes on to say how no one will be able to buy or sell anything without this mark. The verse also says that anyone who will not worship the Beast will be killed.

Due to the importance on this one issue, I’m going to go ahead and restate this verse. I will then give you the verse on God’s warning regarding this event. This verse is talking about the False Prophet and what he is going to do.

“He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.” (Revelations 13:15-18)

Now here is the real scary part. God Himself says in Revelations that none of His people are to receive this mark of the beast. If they do, they will end up coming under His wrath that will be released upon the earth during the latter part of the Tribulation.

God then pronounces what is the most dire warning imaginable if any of His people receive this mark. He flat out says that in addition to suffering His wrath that will be poured out during these last days - that they will also end up in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone where the Antichrist, the False Prophet and Satan will eventually go.

In other words, you will go straight to hell when you die - no if, ands or buts about it!

Let these words sink in to your memory banks and don’t ever forget them in the event that there is no Rapture and the Tribulation takes place in our lifetime. Here is the verse giving all of us this dire warning:
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” (Revelations 14:9-11)

Notice the very graphic warning that God gives in reference to ending up in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. You will end up in this place and the smoke of your torment will ascend forever and ever with no relief ever. This horrible torment will last day and night forever and ever!

Bottom line, all Christians who get caught up in this predicament will have to be willing to lay down their lives for God and Jesus. In other words, you will be martyred for your faith. This will be the ultimate test for any Christian to pass. I really believe that God put this warning in writing in His Word because he knows a lot of His people may get weak and scared if they are approached with this choice by the Antichrist.

But each Christian will simply have to override any fears or doubts that they may have, believe what the Word of God has to say about the matter, and be willing to die for their faith in Jesus. If they do not, their eventual end will be too horrible for any human words to describe. I have already done an article on the possibility of a Rapture.

Hopefully, there is going to be a Rapture of God’s saints before the Tribulation starts, and we will not have to go through any of these horrible events. If there is a Rapture, then the saints that the Bible mentions that will be persecuted will be the people that get saved after the Rapture occurs.

It’s almost as if God may be saying to the ones that get saved after the Rapture - “You all had your chance to accept My salvation before the Rapture and turned it down. Now that the Rapture has taken place, you now know that My people were telling you the truth about My message of salvation. Now I will accept any and all who willing to come to Me, but you will have to prove yourself to Me by being willing to die for your faith in Me by refusing to worship or receive the mark of the beast.”

If all of these events occur in our lifetime, I believe God will use all of us to get the message out to as many people as possible in order to save as many people as He possibly can from all of these horrible events. If their is going to be a Rapture, then it obviously is going to be the “first train out,” and God will try and get as many people warned, saved and on that first train as He possibly can.

But the sad reality is that there are a lot of stubborn people out there who will not accept God’s free gift of salvation the first time around, and they are going to have to suffer the consequences for not doing so.

Hopefully, they will accept God’s gift of salvation through His Son the “second time around” after all of the saints have been Raptured - but then it will cost them their physical lives by being martyred for refusing to accept the mark of the Antichrist.Pray that none of your loved ones miss the “first train out,” if there is going to be a Rapture.

If by chance they miss the rapture, let them know they are NOT to take the mark of the beast if they are faced with this choice.
