Fender Guitars: Tradition that Never Gets Old

October 29th, 2008 by Administrator

Without a doubt, Fender guitars are the top-of-the-line in guitars. Success in business is often measured according to the amount of money and sales a company is able to secure. The success of the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation proves there are two other elements to consider: dedication and perseverance. From the beginning, it was company owner Leo Fender’s main goal to fender guitars the best as possible. The first fruits of his labor would prove positive his dedication He would reach his goal by designing the Telecaster, a solid-body electric guitar with a Spanish design. This guitar, like many Fender guitars that would follow, was the first of its kind. Only a few years after gaining fame with the Telecaster, Fender followed with the Precision Bass and Stratocaster. These Fender guitars are now collector’s items.

Shortly after the success of their pioneering guitars, the company switched management gears and was sold to CBS due to Leo Fender failing ill. For the decade that followed, the company would reach the pinnacle of success by riding on the coattails of their successful Fender guitars. Luckily, CBS returned to its broadcasting ventures and sold the company to employees who basically rebuilt the company from the ground up. Slowly and with assurance the company rebuilt its reputation in the amplifier and guitar industry. They also continued the company’s dedication to customize guitars.

The Fender guitars that put the manufacturer on the map were the Telecaster and the Stratocaster. These two electric guitars proved that the company knew how to make great sound. Anytime a musician looks for a guitar, the quality they most often search for is sound.

When Leo Fender first considered joining the guitar industry, he was actually a designer of amplifiers. When people think of Fender guitars they often think of electric guitars. The Fender Musical Instruments Corporation also produces a good stock of reputable acoustic guitars. To show their versatility, the company also created a selection of acoustic-electric and bass guitars.

Reviewing Fender Guitars

The old saying that, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” probably applies to how Eric Clapton became associated with the Fender company. For many years the guitar legend Eric Clapton was a die hard Gibson guitar fan. That was until the company discontinued his favorite Gibson guitar. Clapton finally discovered love in the land of Fender guitars. Out of his collaborations with the company arose the introduction of the Clapton Signature Strat guitars. Clapton has not turned back since. The following are the unique features of this line of guitars:

* Noiseless Pickups that are trademarked
* Tremolo bridge
* Neck shaped in the form of a “V”

Nowadays, there are very few things that last 50 years. However, the American Telecaster has done just that. It was 50 years ago that Fender introduced the American Telecaster into its line of electric guitars. The Telecaster has managed to stand time because it has adapted with it as opposed to standing still. The following features exist on the most recent edition of the American Telecaster:

* Signature S-1 switching system
* Complementing pickups
* Traditional body radius

Football/soccer premiership preview 2005/06

Premiership preview 2005/06

The 2005/06 Premiership season gets underway on August 13th, and if the bookmakers are to be believed, the title will once again be contested by three teams.

Two of those - Chelsea and Arsenal - meet on 7th August in the traditional curtain-raiser to the new season, the Community Shield. As if any further spice was needed - the on-going Ashley Cole tapping-up saga looks set to ensure that meetings between these two London rivals are tense and feisty affairs.

A look at each of the three sides can point us in the direction of the best bets available prior to the start of the new campaign.

Where better to start than with champions Chelsea. Their first title in 50 years was delivered with games to spare last season, and although bitterly disappointed by their European exit at the hands of eventual winners Liverpool (more about them later), the season must be viewed as a huge success for Jose Mourinho’s side. One loss, 15 goals conceded and a winning margin of 12 points separating them from second-placed Arsenal says it all.

Add to that the growing defensive rock comprised primarily of captain John Terry and keeper Peter Cech, the dazzling attacking play of Robben and Duff, plus of course the spending power of Roman Abromavitch, and on the face of it Chelsea look like being incredibly hard to displace as champions.

Their price of evens is not an unfair price given their dominance last season as well as their ability to go out and buy established and expensive top-class players, however things will surely be tougher for them this time around.

Arsenal, who got off to such a great start last term, only to falter following a crushing defeat at Old Trafford that ended their 49 game unbeaten run, will be out to stop the Chelsea machine in its tracks. Arsenal have traditionally struggled following a title-winning season, only to come back stronger and more determined the season after. With the arrival of top-class players promised - something they were unable to deliver at this time last year due to their new stadium project and the financial restrictions that resulted - Arsenal can mount a serious challenge to Chelsea’s title, and at odds of 11/4, make plenty of appeal.

Manchester United, not long ago the single dominant force in England, have not had things all their own way in recent times, culminating in a 3rd place finish last season and the need therefore to qualify for this season’s Champions League.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side may have failed to impress last term - culminating in an empty trophy cabinet - but they have quality all over the park to make a serious impression in the title race this time around. The likes on Ryan Giggs, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand can keep them on course, while in Wayne Rooney, they have a genuine star player who can make the difference in the big games especially. And with Sir Alex at the helm, backers of United can rest assured that his players will be fully motivated for the challenge that lies ahead.

United can be backed at 10/3 for Premiership glory and this price could look very generous come Christmas 2006 when the race will really begin to hot up.

Finally, no Premiership guide is complete without mention at least of the 2005 Champions League winners. They may have failed to secure a top-four finish in last season’s campaign, but following their heroic European triumph, confidence will be sky high, and with Steven Gerrard seemingly committed to the cause, the 25/1 about a Liverpool triumph looks the each-way value, especially as they are as short as 14/1 in places.

Recommended bets:

5pts Chelsea (evens)

3pts Arsenal (11/4)

Football Betting Trends

October 28th, 2008 by Administrator

Will the football betting trends for the Super Bowl Participants revert back to the norm or are we looking at a new trend? Until last year, the past 10 years the winners of the Super Bowl are a combined 58-79 ATS for a lousy 42% win ratio following their Super Bowl victory. While the losers of the Super Bowl are even worse the following year at 64-94 for a 41% win ratio. Combined, that is a record of 122-173 ATS for a low 41% win ratio. I mentioned all these figures last year in the Super Bowl Football Betting Trend article.

New England and Carolina broke the football betting trend last year by combining for a 68% winning percentage Against The Spread (ATS). New England was 13-4-2 (76%) and Carolina was 9-6-1 (60%).

A winning ATS record the following season for a Super Bowl Participant had only happened 4 times out of 20 chances the past ten years. (2 teams times 10 years = 20 chances) The Pittsburgh Steelers went 10-7 for a 58% win ratio after losing to the Dallas Cowboys back in Super Bowl XXX. Denver had a winning record ATS twice, 12-7 (63%) following their victory against Green Bay in Super Bowl XXXII and after their victory against Atlanta in Super Bowl XXXIII they went 9-5 (64%) the next year. Baltimore barely finished over 50% at 9-8 (53%) after beating the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. Carolina and New England increased the total to six with their sterling records last year.

So does the football betting trend that has dominated the NFL make a comeback or do Philadelphia and New England continue the success from last year for the previous Super Bowl participants? I think the success from last year will continue this year not because I am superstitious but I think the lines may favor the Eagles and the Patriots.

The Eagles will have the harder time continuing the football betting trend and getting the lines a bettor wants (when looking to bet the Eagles) but I think they will continue to get better and dominate like last year and cover most of the big point spreads that come their way. They finished 12-7 ATS last year and were 6-4 ATS when laying over a touchdown. But if the Owens situation becomes a problem the lines will favor the Eagle bettors and I think McNabb would cherish the opportunity to perform at a high level without TO.

The Patriots bettors should receive favorable lines because they lost both coordinators. You should be able to jump on the Patriots at a great price and make some money early. People will be looking for them to fall back but I would not bet against Belichick if I were you. The man can coach and he will actually use this to his advantage and have his players ready to prove everyone wrong. Motivation will not be a problem. If they stumble the first 4 weeks, bettors will make a killing jumping on them or staying with them because the lines will change even more.

Finish Your Round of Golf with Birdies

October 27th, 2008 by Administrator

All the major tournaments, especially the U.S. Open and the PGA, are a true test of endurance. They are usually located in a part of the country where it is hot, humid and muggy. A real physical and mental drain on any golfer.

Look who has been winning the Majors in the last couple of years: Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh. They have incredible endurance. It doesn’t come by accident. They work at it.

Endurance is a word that is commonly associated with athletes such as marathon runners, tri-athletes, swimmers, and cyclists.

Granted, the majority of amateurs use a cart to play. This takes the walking part of the game out of the equation. Bit when most golfers break down, it has more to do with the endurance of the swing muscles than the walking part.

Think of endurance as the ability to perform the same activity over and over for an extended amount of time at max effort and peak performance. Relating this definition to, say, a marathon runner becomes pretty easy. A marathon runner, for example, has to have the cardiovascular (blood and oxygen) endurance to run 26 miles at a steady pace. In addition to having the cardiovascular endurance to run 26 miles, a marathoner needs to also have the endurance in their muscular system to again run 26 miles. If they do not, the body begins to “give up” and this is seen in the form of cramping, muscles not responding, and the body “hitting the wall” as many marathoners call it.

Endurance as it applies to the golf swing and the ability to perform the swing correctly is different than the intensity of running a marathon. But the underlying theme when it comes to endurance is the same. Swinging a golf club is a repetitive, explosive movement performed by the body. The muscles are active from address, back swing, transition, contact, and follow through in the same motor pattern every time you swing a club (or at least they should be; for some of us amateurs the swing path changes from time to time, but that is a subject for another article). Anyways, to perform the golf swing efficiently and effectively for an extended period of time (like 4 rounds of tournament golf) the muscles involved in the golf swing are required to have a certain level of endurance developed within them to sustain the swing.

Do you have enough gas in the tank?

It is essentially having enough “gas in your tank” to swing a club a given number of times. Now I referred to a four-day tournament, which is the average number of days a PGA tour event lasts, but when it comes to endurance and golf swing the number of swings in a tournament is only the beginning. Remember the definition of endurance is the ability of the body to perform a certain movement over and over for a given period of time. In relation to the golf swing and endurance we must also include a time frame. Let us first begin with looking at a typical four-day tournament. At the very least, we need enough endurance in the muscles that swing a club to hit all the shots from tee to green in 72 holes of golf. On top of just the tournament play you must add the additional practice time before or after the round. This could comprise anywhere from 2-3 hours of additional time swinging a club. Now, at this point we are just talking about a single tournament for a tour player.

Let us expand this time period to 7 days. A 7-day time frame for a tour player would consist of a 4-day tournament (Thursday through Sunday) in addition to 3 additional days in the week. Realize that those three other days during week are not “rest” days, but rather filled with work. First off, you have Wednesday, which, at most tournaments, is when the Pro-am is scheduled. If you are unaware of what a Pro-am is on tour, it is a round of golf usually held on Wednesday where each pro in the upcoming tournament is paired with three amateurs for a round of golf. So we can chalk this up to another round of golf. This again would comprise all the golf swing made during the round and any practice before and after.

We are up to Wednesday through Sunday of a tour week. Now what about Monday and Tuesday of a tour week? I would guess that it would be safe to say that probably most players take Monday off, not always, but most of the time. Tuesday is a whole different story. Tuesday is a practice day where a pro could spend 4 to 6 hours at the range, putting and chipping. The number of swings taken on Tuesday can be huge!

So there you have it, a full week on tour with an idea of the number of swings taken by a tour player over a 7-day time frame. Now take this number of swings and multiply it out over an entire season where an average player will participate in 25 tournaments. The numbers get really big looking at it from this perspective. I imagine at this point the connection between endurance and the golf swing has been made. It essentially comes down to this: to swing the club effectively on the correct path over an extended period of time, you need to develop endurance in your muscular system specific to golf. The next question to present is how do you do that?

Developing Endurance Specific to the Golf Swing

So how do you develop endurance in the muscles that are used in the golf swing? You can not really do it by running or doing the Stair Master at your local health club. The reason why? These types of exercises are great for developing cardiovascular endurance and developing some musculature endurance in the legs, but they do not “work” all the muscles involved in the golf swing. And they certainly do not create endurance in these muscles in relation to how they are used to swing a club.

The methodology that is required to develop endurance in the golf swing requires you to perform what I call “cross specificity” exercises specific to the movements and positions in which the body placed during the swing. The result of this type of training is what we term a “transfer-of-training effect.” A transfer-of-training effect is where the exercises performed in your training program improve the performances on the field of competition. Field of competition, when it comes to golf, pertains to the golf course and your swing. So invariably we need to develop what I term “golf endurance” through exercises that are cross specific to the golf swing with the outcome of a transfer-of-training effect to golf swing.

Exercise Equipments that Suit Your Fitness Goals For Dummies

October 24th, 2008 by Administrator

Health-buffs that have been using exercise equipments are surely no neophytes on this matter. But newbies on exercise equipment won’t have a hard time on knowing which to use. It’s just a matter of getting armed with the right info and sufficient determination to be at your fittest.

Choosing the best fitness exercise equipment to meet your needs could be a bit tricky and complicated. Equipments could cost you thousands of dollars. What’s worse is that they might just end up collecting dust in your basement. Surely you don’t want this to happen so here’s a few tips:

Decide on What To Work On. Are you a wheezing kiddo? Plainly stick thin? Could you qualify as an overqualified sumo wrestler? Blue baby? Just decide what you need to improve on. Consulting a physician might help. Or maybe simply looking at the mirror will do the job.

Canvass Through Friends. You might have a health enthusiast friend like you who have been using exercise equipments for quite some time now. It’ll be one fun activity if you could actually convince him to lend you his equipments. If you are close friends, you might even enjoy more bonding time while exercising. If you are just casual acquaintances, consider making the most out of your charm. Stealthily persuade him to lend you those stuff. By hook or by crook! All for the name of fitness.

Home Work. And when finally you were able to earn that friend’s trust, get your clammy hands on those equipments quick. Get those equipments inside the steam room of your house, where you won’t mind getting sweaty that is. Figure out how much space in your home you have to work with. Did that exercise equipment fit in that spot? Does it look good against that wall? If not, consider renovation.

Go Large. Go to a large gym and try out the various pieces of exercise equipment, including cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. Just a piece of advice, don’t do this all of this testing activity in just one day. Trust me. Keep the weights very light - you just want to get a ‘feel’ for each piece of exercise equipment so you can figure out which ones you like the best. Make a list of your top 5 pieces.

What’s in Store. If there’s a local fitness equipment store in your neighborhood, by all means, do visit that store. Ever clicked on your remote control and crossed upon a channel selling things from Abflex to miraculous necklaces? This might be one of the best time to finally get something from your drooling over those ladies doing workouts. See what exercise equipment they are offering to obtain those washboard abs and tight tushies, if that’s what you’re planning to morph your into. Oops, don’t forget to compare prices.

Financial Fitness. After all that trust-earning fuss, note-taking, drooling and renovations you actually succumbed to, it’s time to check on your dough. Can you afford those exercise equipment? If not, Yoga or Pilates tapes could come in handy.

I told you this could get really tricky. Exercise equipments stuck on your basement is a lot better than having nothing to turn to if you finally felt like exercising with an equipment, right?

Do you have the plan to buy a new stereo and postulate 22500 euro

October 21st, 2008 by Administrator

This is why now you really need to check out and check if you can have a credit loan at a fine percent interest rate. A moneylender in Binghamton New York or so may have a total completely different actual loan rate for a 22500 dollar credit loan then a bank in Mesquite Texas and that makes a vast clear gap in your yearly pay backs. Be clever today to examine if you have a bargain or if you don’t with the merchant bank that offers you a bank loan. 6.5 percent rate may look so good but will it stay invariant after you have to pay back your money loan. Nowadays you can check over rates quickly on the internet and find out if there are possible sneaky traps you should be aware of. Many of the banks wil show you a rate of interest that looks bonnie but feels mischievously or so after a period of time. Check out to see if the merchant bank who is willing to give you a loan is estimable. It makes no difference if you live in Fairfield California or in Hayward California a estimable online investigation will salvage you often a lot of incommode.

Contact Lenses A Better Vision Option

October 20th, 2008 by Administrator

There are over 34 million contact wearers in America. The idea of contact lenses has been around for hundreds of years. It is said that the first person to conceptualize the idea of contact lenses was Leonardo da Vinci in the early 1500’s. It wasn’t until 1971 that soft contact lenses entered the market, followed by GP or gas permeable contact lenses in 1978. Extended wear contacts received FDA approval in 1981 and disposable contacts were introduced in 1987.

Today’s contact lenses do more than improve vision. Some contacts are specifically manufactured to change eye color only. With dozens of different colors available some contact lens wearers change their eye color slightly, and some go for a totally different look, such as brown eye to green or blue eye to brown. There are contacts that have special effect lenses that produce effects on the eye such as jaguar and zebra stripes, a yellow cat eye with a vertical pupil, black spiral, stars & stripes and fire. The FDA considers lenses described above as cosmetic only. Depending on your state you may not need a prescription to purchase them. If your contact lenses are to be corrective then you will require a prescription to purchase them.

Another recent advancement in contact lenses is light filtering lenses. These lenses work as do lens specific sport sunglasses by filtering certain lights such as blue light, so that baseballs, golf balls and tennis balls are easier to see. There are also contact lenses that block ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet light has been linked to cataract formation.

There are many types of contact lenses available, hard contacts, gas permeable lenses and soft lenses. We will now give you some advantages, and disadvantages of each kind. Hard contact lenses are less costly in the long run as they aren’t replaced often, and actually allow the wearer better, clearer sight. Soft contact lenses are easier to fit than hard lenses. Gas permeable or GP lenses allow you eyes to breath better and will not dry your eye out as much as soft lenses. Soft lenses are comfortable from the moment you put them on whereas hard lenses at first are very uncomfortable and take some getting used to.

There are safety concerns with any type of contact lenses. Extended wear contact lenses, soft or rigid, when worn long term and overnight can lead to risk of infection and corneal ulcers which can permanently damage eyesight. Most ophthalmologists believe it is better for your eye that you do not wear any type of contact lens overnight. Cleanliness if also of utmost importance for lens wearers. To reduce the risk of infection you should only use commercial sterile saline solutions when cleaning your contact lenses.

It is best to check with your licensed ophthalmologist to discuss which contact lens is best for you.

Constipation Prevention And Natural Remedies

October 20th, 2008 by Administrator

Constipation is a problem that affects many Americans every day. Constipation is mainly due to poor eating habits, insufficient exercise, not getting enough fiber and not drinking enough water. Constipation is quite uncomfortable and most everyone knows when they have it. Common symptoms include:

Straining to have a bowel movement

Hard stools - pellet like stools

Not having a bowel movement every day

Not totally emptying your bowels each time you have a movement

If you eat right and adopt a healthy lifestyle, you need not every suffer from constipation, but what can you do in the meantime?

One way to help get things moving is to increase your intake of potassium through eating foods it naturally occurs in. You remember your grandmother telling you to eat prunes to relieve constipation, right? Well that is because prunes are high in potassium!

Potassium works wonders on the walls of the colon and helps to stimulate peristaltic action which makes your bowels move. It also helps to clean out layers of mucus and dried fecal matter that have built up along the colon walls.

Other foods that contain potassium include: tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, kale, sesame seeds, wheat germ, brewers yeast, pineapple and cauliflower.

Another natural remedy for constipation is Aloe. This herb that works so good on your outsides can also help your insides too! Aloe and its cousins buckthorn, frangula and senna have natural laxative chemicals and can be very powerful constipation cures It is recommended you take any of these herbs with caution and not for extended periods of time.

Psyllium has long been used to help relieve symptoms of constipation as it is loaded with soluble fiber. Make sure you take psyllium with lots of water.

Flax seed is used in may packaged products that treat constipation. You can buy the flaxseeds and crush them yourself. Take one or two tablespoons a day with lots of water. You will need to make sure you get at least 8 glasses of water a day when using flax.

Rhubarb has laxative properties and is high in fiber. Since the properties that give it it’s laxative qualities are similar to those in senna, this can be very powerful so use with caution!

While using natural remedies for constipation is much better then taking laxatives, the best thing to do is to practice prevention by eating lots of fruits and vegetables, getting adequate exercise and drinking lots of water.

The Forerunner: Elijah The Prophet 1

October 19th, 2008 by Administrator

Excerpts from The Third Testament

THE COUNSEL OF ELIJAH No. 1

1. I am Elijah, the prophet of the First Era and of the transfiguration on Mount Tabor. Prepare yourselves for you have been given the knowledge of the Seven Seals, and the doors of mystery have been opened so that you may contemplate the path of your salvation.

2. Behold the word of God fulfilled, pronounced since remote times by His prophets.

3. Be it known that there is joy in the celestial mansions and that it is the Divine Master, the Sacrificed Lamb, whom John beheld in his revelation, who has opened the Sixth Seal with His most powerful and perfect hand, and with it, the Third and last of the eras.

4. The light of the Sixth candlestick illuminates you, Humanity.

5. “Voice of the One who speaks in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord,” the prophet announced, and here I am, preparing the coming of my Lord, of your Heavenly Father, the Great Yahve, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God who spoke to Moses in the Sinai, and delivered the Law to His people.

6. So here, then, the promise is fulfilled, and He returns, surrounded by His angels, to reveal every mystery and to show the path of salvation to every spirit; for it is in this period of time that the prophecy shall be fulfilled that “Every flesh will see Him, and every spirit will feel Him.”

7. Therefore be prepared, Oh Israel, to receive your Lord and God, for the era of the Holy Spirit has now begun among you.

8. Twenty-two precepts are the legacy of the envoys of the Three Eras, precepts that clarify and explain to you the Law of God, so that you may guide yourselves during your human existence in accordance with them.

9. These 22 precepts form, in their unity, the Law, and they are formed by the explanation of the Commandments that God delivered through Moses, the envoy of the First Era; through the teaching of Jesus, the envoy of the Second Era, and by the precepts through Elijah, the envoy of the Third Era, which are revealed to the people of Israel through Roque Rojas, as a prelude toward the opening of the Sixth Seal, and the third of the Eras, the first of September of 1866, in this Mexican Nation.
